Readers browse by genre and trope, read the first chapter before buying, keep a reading list, read some books before they're out, and talk to the authors and each other in one forum. Authors get everything the ARC services charge for (delivery, a copy marked to every reader, progress chapter by chapter, reminders and an "it's out" email), and when the book is out it has a home: its own page, a free first chapter with stats on how far readers get, and readers who follow them. Bervet is based in New South Wales, Australia, and is free for readers and authors.
