What you'll find here
These books are about growth you can see. The main kinds:
- LitRPG. The world runs on game-like rules: stats, levels, skills, often shown on the page as system messages.
- GameLit. Game elements are present but lighter; the story matters more than the numbers.
- Progression fantasy. No game screen required: the heart of it is a character getting stronger through training, discipline and risk.
- Cultivation. Progression shaped by Chinese xianxia and wuxia traditions: realms, techniques and advancement.
- Dungeon cores, base building and crafting. Growth through building something, not just fighting.
- Isekai and portal stories. Someone from our world wakes up in one that works like a game. Tagged portal to another world.
The underdog and found family tropes are common, and so are long series: series pages show the books in reading order.
Finding your next one
- Read chapter 1 first. It shows how the system works and how much of it you'll see on the page. It's free on every book that has it.
- Start at book one. Many are series; series pages have "Start here" on the first.
- Try "Most finished". Books ranked by how many readers finish the free first chapter. Nobody can pay to be there.
- Read before release. Authors give out free advance copies here.
