The Guttering Light

The Lantern is the busiest crossing on the frontier — a cathedral of vanes that holds a fold in space open so an entire region can thread home through one lit door. The Reach is the action-adventure thread of the Fracture Cosmology — a five-book frontier fleet saga. The Guttering Light is the second novel. Best entered from The Reach, Book 1 (The Wrong Number), though it stands on its own. The cosmology has many doors and no required reading order; other good first books are The Signal, Cohort, and Wide Sky.
